Abbé Pierre 1960 bis 2000er Jahre: Emmaus veröffentlicht 33 Zeugnisse sexueller Gewalt durch den Priester und Gründer der Bewegung, darunter gegen Minderjährige
Abbé Pierre, katholischer Priester und Gründer der Emmaus-Bewegung, gestorben 2007, galt jahrzehntelang als einer der beliebtesten Franzosen. Ab 2024 veröffentlichten Emmaus International, Emmaus France und die Fondation Abbé Pierre Berichte der Beratungsfirma Groupe Egaé, die Zeugnisse über sexuelle Gewalt durch ihn sammelte. Der dritte Bericht vom Januar 2025 fügte den 24 bereits veröffentlichten Zeugnissen 9 weitere hinzu, über Taten gegen minderjährige und erwachsene Frauen von den 1960er bis in die 2000er Jahre; weitere Berichte betreffen Jungen. Laut Bericht hatte Abbé Pierre Mittel eingesetzt, um Opfer zum Schweigen zu bringen; einem Vater riet er, keine Anzeige wegen eines Übergriffs auf seinen Sohn zu erstatten. Die Zeugnisse sind laut Egaé nicht vollständig und wurden nicht gerichtlich geprüft.

- Die 9 neuen Zeugnisse betreffen sexuelle Übergriffe auf minderjährige und erwachsene Frauen von den 1960er bis in die 2000er Jahre, meist ungewollte Berührungen der Brüste oder erzwungene Küsse; ein Zeugnis betrifft einen minderjährigen Jungen. Unter den Betroffenen waren Hotelangestellte, Pflegerinnen in Krankenhäusern, in denen er lag, Helferinnen in Jugendlagern und Familienangehörige. Viele waren laut Bericht wegen ihres Alters, einer Schwangerschaft oder ihrer dienenden Stellung verletzlich. Weitere Berichte betreffen zwei Jungen von 8 bis 10 Jahren vor 1965; diese konnten bislang nicht mit bekannten Daten seines Lebens verknüpft werden.

Wie wurden sie angeklagt und verurteilt?
- Im Juli 2024 beauftragten Emmaus International, Emmaus France und die Fondation Abbé Pierre die Groupe Egaé, nach der Veröffentlichung von Missbrauchstaten Abbé Pierres eine Anlauf- und Sammelstelle für Zeugnisse einzurichten. Der erste Bericht erschien am 17. Juli 2024, der zweite am 6. September 2024. Der dritte, im Januar 2025 vorgelegte Bericht enthält 9 Zeugnisse sexueller Übergriffe, zusätzlich zu den 24 bereits veröffentlichten. Egaé betont, dass die Zeugnisse keine erschöpfende Darstellung von Abbé Pierres Verhalten erlauben.

Hintergrund
Reaktion der Kirche
- Laut Bericht hatte Abbé Pierre Mittel eingesetzt, um Opfer zum Schweigen zu bringen, vor allem drohende Worte und Verhaltensweisen; einer Minderjährigen sagte er, er sei sehr mächtig, man würde ihr nicht glauben. Einem Gemeinschaftsleiter, dessen neunjähriger Sohn von einem jungen Mann in der Gemeinschaft sexuell angegriffen worden war, riet er in einem Brief davon ab, Anzeige zu erstatten. Ein anderer Gemeinschaftsleiter, der in den 1980er Jahren Hinweise auf sexuelle Übergriffe eines Leiters vorbrachte, wurde laut seiner Aussage von Abbé Pierre gedemütigt, der nichts unternahm.
